SW!NG OUT Community Fund supports the sustainability of social swing dance in New York City. By offering grants to individuals, community groups, and organizations, the Fund aims to make NYC the strongest Lindy Hop community in the world.

  • Swing Remix, in operation since 2007, receives support to continue hosting monthly social swing dance parties with live music in Manhattan.

  • Derrick León Washington receives support for Urban Stomp Curators Club: The Lindy Hop Sessions, which will provide exclusive behind-the-scenes explorations of rare objects and interactive dance sessions connected to the iconic art forms of swing music and Lindy Hop in New York City.

  • Svetlana Shmulyian receives support to provide free introductory swing dance lessons and a partial subsidy for the band artist fee during her ongoing Speakeasy Sessions residency on Monday nights at the Back Room Speakeasy on the Lower East Side.

  • Rahat Bathija receives support to host a social dance party in partnership with the NYC & NY State Parks Department in Queens.

  • Considered “home” to many in the NYC swing dance community, Frim Fram Jam has been the go-to spot for Lindy Hop since 2001, featuring free intro lessons and dancing to DJed and live music every Thursday night.

  • Adrian Miranda receives support to produce a new narrative dance film featuring NYC Lindy Hoppers.

  • Lindy Lab receives support to host weekly practice sessions for NYC Lindy Hop community members.

  • Harlem Swings receives support for a celebration of Frankie Manning’s birthday, World Lindy Hop Day, as well as youth Lindy Hop educational programming in Harlem.

  • Project Connect receives support to continue engaging NYC K-12 students with Lindy Hop through classes and educational performances.

  • Elena Valencia receives support to host a series of workshops educating NYC Lindy Hoppers in historic Vernacular Jazz line dances.

  • New York Lindy Exchange receives support for its annual festival with classes, performances, and social dances that celebrate NYC's historic and present-day Lindy Hop community.

  • Swing With Us NYC will receive support to host monthly social dances in Harlem, NYC the historic birthplace of Lindy Hop.

  • Midtown Swings receives support to provide live music at two evenings of their weekly social swing dance parties.

  • New York Swings, directed by Gaby Cook, receives support for rehearsals and creative incubation time in anticipation of touring performances featuring some of NYC Lindy Hop's brightest talents.

  • Big City Lindy Buskers receives support to provide free outdoor jazz sessions with live music and professional swing dance performances.

  • Living Lindy Legends Project, created by Bobby White, receives support to film and publish interviews with living legends of Lindy Hop.

    Other important details:

  • All donations are tax-deductible thanks to a fiscal sponsorship with The Joyce Theater Foundation.

  • No S!OCF officers are paid for their fundraising labor, which affirms that your donation goes directly towards supporting Lindy Hop initiatives in NYC. Our only overhead: hosting this website and a nominal fee towards Joyce Theater Foundation for processing our tax-exempt donations.
